SMOOCHER is a horse who ran one race too many. He won two in a row (one at Golden Gate Fields and one at Turf Paradise), but when he tried to extend his winning streak to three, he severely bowed a tendon and pulled his suspensories and had to be pulled up and “vanned off”.
As unlucky as his last race was, his luck changed when he retired. He is sponsored by 5 year old Colt Jance who is the grandson of renowned mystery writer, J.A.Jance. Smoocher is another horse who doesn’t much like being with other horses and can often be found in a paddock by himself. Soundness was probably always an issue with him because he only started 44 times but he managed to earn $417,728. He won 9 races (one of which was a black type stakes race), was second 8 times and third 4 times. Smoocher is 10 years old.
